If you’re affected by a disaster or other crisis and need help, the last thing you want to be is alone. OnStar Crisis Assist is there for you and your loved ones, 24/7

Since 1970, the number of natural disasters each year has more than quadrupled. And after a 2018 wildfire season that was among the worst on record, it’s worth taking steps now to make sure you and your family are prepared for the worst. OnStar Members have 24/7/365 access to Crisis Assist,*12 a service that provides you with critical assistance during severe weather, natural disasters and other crises. It includes:

• A priority 24/7 connection to a specially trained OnStar Emergency Certified Advisor*41
• Routing assistance away from trouble areas
• Help contacting loved ones
• The most up-to-date information we can provide about the crisis

Think of OnStar as a central point of contact when you encounter situations or conditions that are difficult, whether you need emergency assistance or help finding shelter or connecting to your loved ones. Here are four things you should know about OnStar Crisis Assist.

Just push the red button to get help

To get help in any crisis, just push the red Emergency button. You’ll connect with an OnStar Emergency Certified Advisor who has completed extensive training to provide critical medical direction until first responders arrive. This can be lifesaving, particularly during times when emergency help might be delayed because of the conditions.

OnStar Advisors can do more than you think

OnStar Advisors can do a lot more than provide medical assistance during a crisis. Whether you need routing assistance due to the conditions or help contacting a loved one or just need to find the fastest route to the nearest shelter, our Advisors can help. If you need help during a crisis, just push the button and tell the Advisor what you need. We will do what we can to help, and provide complimentary Hands-Free Calling*24 minutes (if needed) so you can contact your loved ones directly.

Crisis Assist can help in unexpected situations

You can rely on OnStar to help in severe weather such as flash floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and winter storms. But OnStar is also there in disasters such as:

• Natural Resource/Man-Made Disasters: Energy/power outages, hazardous material situations or terrorist activity
• Natural Disasters: Wildfires, earthquakes, landslides, or ice storms

The OnStar Command Centre is always on alert

OnStar has a central Command Centre that monitors severe weather and disaster situations 24/7 so we can prepare our team of OnStar Emergency Certified Advisors to better help you. In times of disaster, you might not have access to information you need. Our Command Centre team works to stay on top of events as they unfold and gather critical information, which may include instructions from your local authorities.
