When the weather is unpredictable, confidence in your vehicle’s safety features and performance is even more important than usual.
That’s where Vehicle Diagnostics* comes in. Think of this valuable OnStar service as your vehicle giving you regular updates on how it’s doing. Vehicle Diagnostics can run regular checks on your vehicle’s key operating systems and email you a detailed monthly report on those systems, including:
- Air bag system
- Antilock brake system
- Engine and transmission system
- Emissions system
- StabiliTrak® stability control system
- OnStar system
Your monthly diagnostics report can also tell you the amount of pressure in each tire and whether any of them require air (if equipped, excludes spare), and how much oil life you have left.
The diagnostics report also grades each system, so you never have to wonder how to respond to your report’s information:
- Green means “No issues found”
- Yellow means “Action suggested”
- Red means “Immediate attention”

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, you can’t always stay on top of your vehicle’s maintenance. We get it. OnStar is there for you if a problem occurs on the road. If the “Check Engine” light comes on or you have a concern while you’re driving, just push the blue OnStar button and ask the Advisor to run an On‑Demand Diagnostics* check. If your problem requires immediate attention, the Advisor can help you find the nearest Dealer or service provider, or send Roadside Assistance* if needed.
