Experience the confidence of knowing OnStar is ready to help

Your OnStar 4Safety & Security Plan* can give you peace of mind when you’re out on the road. But what’s included with your service plan, and how do you use OnStar when you need it? Here’s what you need to know.

Your OnStar Advisor

Who It Is: A specially trained professional who can be available to help at the push of a button.

How to Contact Them: You can push the blue OnStar button in a non-crisis situation to be connected to someone ready to help, 24/7. If you are in an emergency, you can push the red Emergency button for a priority connection to an 64Emergency-Certified Advisor.*

Automatic Crash Response

What It Is: Built-in sensors are designed to automatically alert OnStar if you’re in a 16crash,* so an Advisor can locate your vehicle and notify first responders of your vehicle’s location.

How to Use It: You don’t need to do a thing. If you’re in a crash, the vehicle can alert an Advisor to connect to your vehicle and direct help to your location — even if you can’t ask for it yourself.

Emergency Services

What It Is: You’ll have a priority connection to an Emergency-Certified Advisor who can contact emergency service providers and provide certain types of medical assistance until help arrives.

How to Use It: Push the red Emergency button if you experience a medical emergency or require critical assistance. You can also push the red Emergency button to be a Good Samaritan if you see someone else who needs help.

Roadside Assistance

What It Is: If you’re stranded, have a flat tire or need a tow, an OnStar Advisor can contact a local service provider to help get you the 17help you need.*

How to Use It: Push the blue OnStar button and tell the Advisor what’s happened. They can help find the closest available service provider.

Crisis Assist

What It Is: If you’re caught in a natural disaster or severe weather, this service provides you with emergency resources, such as special routing assistance and help locating shelter.

How to Use It: Push the blue OnStar button and tell the Advisor your situation. They can help you find a route away from danger, locate the nearest shelter or hotel, and connect with family members so you can let them know you’re OK.

Stolen Vehicle Assistance

What It Is: If your vehicle is stolen, OnStar can help 18locate the vehicle* and work with authorities to help recover it if conditions are safe.

How to Use It: Once you’ve filed a police report, contact OnStar at 1.888.4ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827). An Advisor can work with authorities to help locate and potentially recover your vehicle. Want to know more? Find out how OnStar can give you a leg up on thieves.

Turn-by-Turn Navigation

What It Is: An OnStar Advisor can 20download directions* right to your vehicle and guide you to your destination — even if you don’t know the exact address.

How to Use It: Just push your blue OnStar button and ask the Advisor for directions. They can download Turn-by-Turn directions right to your vehicle and a voice will call out every turn. You can also search for directions in your vehicle’s mobile app and send them to your vehicle’s in-dash navigation system (if equipped).
