How you can use OnStar to help others

The holidays are a time for giving back. Whether it’s volunteering, donating to a worthy cause or helping families struggling to make ends meet, people from all walks of life come together this time of year to make the world a bit better. And it’s easy for OnStar Members to help others in need: just push your red Emergency button* when someone needs help.

“The state police told me if [the accident] was called in any later, there would have absolutely been fatalities. It still gives me a great feeling that I had OnStar with me.” — Josh S., Good Samaritan

Whether you’re on the road or not, you can contact OnStar to notify emergency services when you see someone who needs help. Good Samaritans have used OnStar to help others who were caught in severe weather, were involved in a crash, suffered medical emergencies and more.

A community is always stronger when people look out for each other. That’s what the holidays are all about, and it’s why OnStar encourages you to do a good deed and push the red Emergency button when you see someone who needs help.

Life is unpredictable. You never know when an emergency may strike. But when it does, you can push your red Emergency button to help others when they need it most.

If you’ve been a Good Samaritan and used OnStar to help someone else, we’d love to hear about it. Share your story and let us know what happened.
